    Dancing Well: The Soldier Project brings group dance experiences to veterans with PTSD or traumatic brain injury. We also welcome their families and loved ones who are indirectly affected. Through Dancing Well, veterans, families, and community members come together in a safe, low-pressure setting to enjoy the fun, fellowship, and sense of well-being that are the hallmarks of community dance.  Dancing Well is unique in providing a traditional dance experience tailored to the needs of afflicted veterans and their families.  Veteran participants report improved mood, memory, sleep, physical health, and outlook on the future, as well as decreased anxiety and pain levels.  A recent scientific study showed preliminary results of participants experiencing increased feelings of connectedness.  Dancing Well holds ten-session dance series in Louisville.

    The Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana serves Kentucky's more than 159,000 children, adults, and veterans living with epilepsy and seizure disorders.  Operation Outreach is the Foundation's signature veterans program that focuses on helping mental health clinicians become familiar with the symptoms of seizures in veterans, raising public awareness of seizures and epilepsy among our military and veteran populations, and advocates for individual veterans seeking medical and financial assistance.

    The Kentucky Center for the Arts provides world-class arts experiences to the Kentuckiana Area.  One of its mission programs, Arts in Healing brings creative activities into healing environments such as Robley Rex VA Medical Center, the Vet Center and Athena's Sisters.  Veterans and families write poetry, create visual works of art, drum, dance, sing and listen to music at these organizations, 11-15 hours per week.  Warrior's Heart Community, a program of Arts in Healing, provides opportunities for warriors and civilians to come together to create safe, non-judgmental, and supportive circles for veterans to share and explore their stories, using the arts, ritual, connection to the earth, and the steps of the warrior's return journey of ancient warrior traditions.  This program is based on the work of Dr. Ed Tick.     Supportive Services for Veterans Families serving veterans and their families with housing needs. The program requires the veteran to be pending eviction from housing, or be literally homeless to receive services. SSVF provides case management services to help eligible veterans and their families to remain stably housed or regain housing. The veteran must provide proof of active duty service (DD214), proof of housing, income, and other forms of identification.
